NEW KIDS ON THE BLOG

Nathan has been after me to do SOMETHING to help with the family photo and journal effort. So, here is the start. We have so many travel and family photos. It is a disservice to keep them all to ourselves. We will try to make our lives seem as interesting as possible.

We did manage to update the kitchen during December 2009 and January 2010. It has been quite a change. We are still trying to figure our the optimal location for each item. The experience was made tolerable by our great contractor, Rand Rawson, who turns out to be married to a Geertsen (my Maiden name). Our next projects will take place outside -- changing the 15 lighting fixtures, re-doing the wooden deck, some landscaping. It takes me a while to get started. Inspiration of some kind is needed.

Right now, June 15, 2010, the weather in Salt Lake City is a perfect 76 degrees with a lovely blue sky and white fluffy clouds. I call it a "Simpson sky", after the one used to introduce the Simpson's TV show. The house is quiet. Our grandson, nine-month-old Wilson, must be down for a nap. His parents, Garrett and Jen, are living with us until they are able to move into their house. Hopefully, the sale of the one they have selected will progress without any hitches. It should close toward the end of July. Tomorrow is the inspection, and that could turn up anything. It has been fun having the little kid around. His parents have been able to supply lively conversation as well as help around the house. This has been a good experience.

Look forward to photos of our world-wide travels. We have had some wonderful adventures. They are not on the scale of hiking cross-countries and staying in hostels, but we did have fun and we saw incredible sights.
